TouchSomeGrassPrivacy Policy

TouchSomeGrass ("the app", "we", "us") is built on one rule: it should not need your data to work. This policy explains, permission by permission, what the app reads on your device, what never leaves it, and the one small exception (fetching meme GIFs) that touches the network at all.
1. There is no account
TouchSomeGrass has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile on any server. We don't know who you are, and we have no way to look you up. Everything the app remembers — which apps you're tracking, your daily limits, your violation history, your settings — is stored locally on your device, in the app's private storage, using Android's standard app-preferences and local-storage mechanisms. We never see it.
2. What the app reads on your device, and why

What we don't collect
- No name, email, phone number, or account of any kind.
- No location data.
- No advertising ID, and no ads.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs — we don't know how many people use the app, what they tap, or when it crashes.
- No contacts, messages, files, or photos.
- No audio recording.
3. The camera challenge, specifically
One of the four unlock challenges asks you to hold your camera on something green for a few seconds. This runs entirely on-device: the app looks at the live camera preview, estimates what fraction of the frame is green, and unlocks once you've held roughly a quarter of the frame green for a few continuous seconds. No photo or video frame is ever saved, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere — the pixels are read, measured, and discarded in memory. If camera access isn't available or is denied, the app falls back to a plain hold-timer challenge instead.
4. Third-party services
The app calls one third-party API — Klipy — to fetch meme/reaction GIFs shown on the wall screen. These requests carry an app-level API key and a search term (e.g. a roast keyword); they do not carry your name, device identifiers tied to you personally, or anything else about you. Klipy's handling of that request is governed by their own privacy policy. If the network is unavailable or the request fails, the app falls back to a drawn, built-in meme card — the wall never depends on the network to work.
We do not use any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting third-party SDKs.
5. Data retention and deletion
Your settings and usage history (a rolling 7-day window, kept for the weekly recap) live only in the app's local storage on your device. You're always in control of it:
- Reset thresholds, tracked apps, or history any time from the in-app Settings screen.
- Clear all app data from Android Settings → Apps → TouchSomeGrass → Storage → Clear data.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything immediately — there is no server copy to delete, because none exists.

6. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data, because we don't collect any to begin with. The only outbound network call the app makes is the anonymous GIF fetch described above.
7. Children's privacy
TouchSomeGrass is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app has no account system and no server-side data collection, no personal information is available for us to collect in the first place.
8. Security
Because your data never leaves your device, its security is governed by your device's own security (screen lock, disk encryption, etc.) rather than by us. We recommend keeping your device's OS up to date.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, note it in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
